Bio:
She was born in a small village in Northern Guatemala, Central America. She and her husband had to leave Guatemala over 45 years ago because of political problems. They lived in Costa Rica and Mexico for a few years before moving to the United States 39 years ago. When they arrived, they didn't speak English and had to adjust to a new culture, like many immigrant families.
She worked as a school social worker in the Provo School District for three years and retired from BYU two years ago. Now, she is serving a full-time mission in Guatemala.
